The unofficial start of his career began when he started shooting portraits of his friends and family in the picturesque woods surrounding the lakes and rivers near his boyhood home in Nova Scotia.
In 1992, Tom founded Spotty Dog Productions LLC, a full-service production company based in New York City, which offered professional production services to advertising agencies, magazines, and photographers. Spotty Dog became known for creating lavish, full-scale shoots in exotic locations around the globe. On behalf of a vast array of clients, such as Jaguar, Stella McCartney, Nike, and MTV, Tom and his camera traveled the world in search of beautiful images.
Tom’s work has been featured in Interview, W Magazine, American Photo and other national publications. His photographs have been shown in galleries in the United States and Canada, and can be found in private collections throughout the world.
